Huili Jin - Fashion Designer and Technologist

Huili Jin, a fashion designer and garment technologist based in London, originally from China. Functionality and sustainability are two keywords that frequently appear in the work and that she continually explore.

Hello, I’m Huili Jin.

I am a fashion designer and garment technologist based in London. I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Fashion at the Royal College of Art in the UK, after completing my undergraduate studies in Womenswear Design at Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology.

My work primarily focuses on functionality in clothing and the sustainable development of fashion. Empowering women and exploring how fashion can serve as a medium for sustainability have always been my guiding principles.

In my past project Escape, I restructured garment patterns and techniques to support women struggling with psychological stress in the workplace, aiming to offer emotional detachment through clothing. In project Hug Me, I designed therapeutic, functional garments for women dealing with urban loneliness. My previous work has also addressed the needs of women facing anger disorders and body anxiety through functional design.

Currently, I am working on an inclusive design project to improve clothing accessibility for wheelchair users. I collaborate closely with members of this community, listening to their experiences and feedback.

As a designer, my goal is to offer meaningful support through design—using my skills to make a difference where it truly matters.
