What is Psychological Detachment from Work?
Urban autism is not a clinical term but is increasingly used to describe the experience of individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) living in urban environments, where sensory overload, social complexity, and environmental unpredictability can intensify stress and anxiety.
Women with autism may be more vulnerable in urban settings due to social masking, underdiagnosis, and greater societal expectations around emotional labor and social conformity. These factors can lead to heightened anxiety and exhaustion, making supportive interventions — like functional design — particularly important.

The inspiration for this project comes from women experiencing urban loneliness. In today's society, urban loneliness has become a "social epidemic" spreading globally in this century. Therefore, I aim to alleviate urban loneliness by creating an emotional connection between clothing and the wearer through embracing.
Hug therapy is a psychological treatment method based on psychodynamic theory. Researching the principles of a hugging machine, I experimented with various structural experiments using elastic fabrics and women's self-hugging movements.
